Zoom has implemented tighter restrictions on the use of outdated software versions in order to provide a more stable and secure environment. Updating Zoom is now mandatory as Zoom will disable access to its platforms if client software becomes too outdated.
Upon launching Zoom, you may be prompted to launch an update for the Zoom app. Follow the prescribed steps. If you are not prompted, your current version may be ok. However, it's best to proactively update Zoom. To do that, follow the steps for your operating system below.
To update Zoom:
1. Open Zoom.
2. Click on your profile icon in the upper right and click Check for Updates.
3. If an update is available, click Install when prompted.
4. Zoom will update and re-open when ready. Click "Discover what's new" if you're interested in learning more about the update.
- Note: If you are signed out after updating, make sure to sign back in with your VCS account (see these steps).
