To email your students (and their parents!) using the Quickmail block:
-
Quickmail is best for emailing large groups of students and parents/guardians
-
Use Outlook for sending a more personalized message to individual students and parents/guardians
1. Click Compose Course Message from the Quickmail block
2. Choose your recipient(s) and be mindful when doing so:
-
"All in course" goes to students, co-teachers, counselors, and other staff who have view of your page
-
"Student (Role)" goes to all students enrolled in your class
-
"(A) (Group)" goes to all students you teach on A day
-
"(B) (Group)" goes to all students you teach on B day
-
"1(A), 1(B), 2(A), etc." goes to all students in the individual class periods
-
Individual student names can be selected further down the recipient menu
3. Compose the email subject, message, add attachments, etc.
4. If you want the email to be sent to the students' parents/guardians, select Yes to send copies to mentors of recipients. Then click Send Message.
5. Your message will be sent immediately and you will receive a confirmation email in your VCS inbox.
6. You can view all of your sent messages and send reports by clicking the View Sent Messages link from the Quickmail block on your Learn@VCS home page
