All mandatory HR trainings can now be either accessed or launched from within the KnowBe4 training portal using the available course links.
You may wish to review the instructions below for information on completing your training.
NOTE: New users (brand new VCS accounts) will receive a separate invitation to join the organization. Use the links in that email and be sure to verify your new account by following the instructions.
NOTE: There are as many as 5 trainings you must complete (4 if you've already taken the CA Sexual Harassment Prevention training within a year as this training need only be completed every 2 years).
- Mandated Reporter - completed annually
- Workplace Safety - completed annually
- Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens - completed annually
- Security Awareness Foundations - completed annually
- CA Sexual Harassment Prevention - completed every 2 years
To complete VCS mandatory HR Training:
Use the automated invitation email sent by KnowBe4 to begin your HR training.
OR
1. Log in to KnowBe4 with your VCS email address and password at https://training.knowbe4.com/ui/login.
2. Click the Training tab or the Go to Training button.
3. To complete *California Mandated Reporter Training:
- Click the Start button.
- The training will open in a pop-up window.
- You may be asked to accept cookies. You can either select Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information or OK, it's up to you.
- Even though you may already have an account with MandatedReporterCA.com, you MUST join the organization using your existing VCS email address.
- Under Group select VCS Faculty and Staff.
- Enter your official VCS email address.
- Click Join Organization.
- Enter your VCS password and click Log In.
- Click Accept when prompted to join Valley Christian School.
- Confirm that you see Valley Christian School in the upper-right corner. This is important. If you complete the course in your personal profile instead of your organization profile (Valley Christian Schools) your record of completion will not be accessible.
- Once you've confirmed that you're in the correct profile, find School Personnel and click Start Course.
- For returning users who completed the course last year, click Retake Course
- NOTE: the General Training standalone course is NO LONGER REQUIRED. It has been incorporated into the School Personnel course material. School employees need only complete the School Personnel training on an annual basis.
- If you close this training window, you can resume Mandated Reporter training directly at this URL: https://account.mandatedreportertraining.com/login.
- If you have any issues with the Mandated Reporter training, including logging in or joining the Org, please click the HELP button in the lower right hand corner. If you wait a few seconds, the GET IN TOUCH button will appear. Complete the form and a member of the CA Mandated Reporter tech support team will get back to you shortly.
- After you complete the Mandated Reporter training, be sure to return to the KnowBe4 training portal and check the completion checkbox to confirm you've successfully completed Mandated Reporter training. Otherwise the user reports will show your training as incomplete.
4. To complete the VCS Disclaimer Notice 2024:
- Click the Start button.
- The disclaimer notice will open in a pop-up window.
- Read the disclaimer notice, check Accept, and click Submit.
5. To complete the remaining four trainings:
- Click the Start button for each training.
- These trainings will open in pop-up windows, but do not require another log in.
- You may start, stop, and resume training from within the KnowBe4 training portal.
Please note, most trainings must be completed annually. However, the California Sexual Harassment Prevention training need only be completed every 2 years. If you do not see this training available in your training portal, it means you've met the requirement for this year and will not need to retake the training until next year.
